Opal Labs collects personally identifiable information when you register to use Opal or from user surveys.
When you register for Opal, we ask for your name, email address, location, company title, company department, bio, and interests.
When you choose to donate to an Opportunity, we collect your name, billing address, and credit card information.
Opal Labs uses your personal information for the following general purposes: to match you with relevant data on Opal, product and service improvements, or to contact you.
Opal Labs uses your credit card and billing information for any donations you are giving and for credit card authentication (see "Credit Card Information" below).
We use non-personally identifiable information and certain technical information about your computer in order to operate, maintain, and manage Opal.
Opal Labs will never sell, rent or otherwise disclose any of your personal information, including your email address, to any third party, unless:
A cookie is a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website’s computers and are stored on your computer's hard drive. Opal Labs uses cookies to record current session information and our cookies generally last two weeks. You are required to log-in to your Opal account after a two-week period of time has elapsed to protect you against others accidentally accessing the content of your account. Four devices can be logged into your account at once (home, work, mobile, iPad) and the two week cookie session applies for each. You are responsible for ensuring that your account is protected (by logging off, etc.) and that your password is kept confidential.
All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers that are protected in secure facilities including firewall protection. Opal Labs has implemented such technology and security features, as well as strict internal guidelines, to safeguard the privacy of your personal information from unauthorized access or improper use. We will continue to enhance security as new technology becomes available.
For transmitting your personal information to us, we use a 128/256 bit SSL certification that encrypts all of your personal information. This encryption process ensures that the information you give us is protected against unauthorized use.
While we make every effort to ensure that your information is secure on our system, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do this at your own risk.
Your Opal account information is password-protected for your privacy and security. You can play an important role in keeping your personal information secure by maintaining its confidentiality. Please advise us your Community Manager immediately if there is any unauthorized use of your account by any other Internet user or any other breach of security.
All donations are made through a third party, Global Giving. We collect your credit card information and pass that through an API to this third party who processes payment and allocates the donation to the correct organization.

If you feel you have been charged incorrectly on your credit card by Global Giving, please contact us immediately via the “Contact Us” link in the Opal footer or email us at hello@ouropal.com. While we cannot credit your account for any incorrect charge (credits can only be issued by Global Giving), we will investigate the issue immediately.
You can log-in to your account to update your personal data or password. All information is password-protected so no one can access the information but you. You may cancel your account at any time by contacting your Community Manager.
From time to time, Opal Labs will review and may edit this policy in accordance with potential changes to our business or as may be required by law. We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time without notice to you.
Opal is not intended, designed for, or directed to children under the age of 18, and we will not intentionally collect or maintain information about anyone under the age of 18. If it comes to our attention that we have received personal information about anyone under the age of 18, such information will be immediately deleted from our records.
